Workwear supplier Mi Hub has achieved ISO accreditation that demonstrates it is accurately measuring and reporting its carbon footprint.

The group, whose brands include Alexandra and Yaffy, is thought to be the first in the uniform and workwear industry to get ISO 14064-1:2019 Greenhouse Gases.

Achieving the ISO verification confirms that Mi Hub has met the globally recognised standard for designing, developing, managing and reporting a comprehensive carbon inventory.

Over the past 12 months, the group’s environmental, social and governance (ESG) team has worked closely with external carbon specialists to gather, test and validate data line by line, ensuring accuracy across all emissions sources.

At the core of this approach is activity-based carbon data. Unlike spend-based analysis where emissions are tied to financial transactions, activity-based calculation uses scientifically recognised emissions factors linked to real-world processes.

This allows for targeted carbon reduction projects in both the short and long term and provides a verified foundation for future science-based targets. It also aligns with emerging government reporting requirements.

The verification not only strengthens Mi Hub’s internal reporting but also enhances the support that Mi Hub’s brands can offer to customers. With a verified carbon footprint, the group can provide dependable emissions data that contributes directly to customers’ net zero progress.

Over time, Mi Hub is anticipating that this relationship with customers will lead to “deeper collaboration, knowledge sharing and more sustainable supply chain decision-making”.

Steph Barnard, director of ESG and risk at Mi Hub, said: “Achieving ISO 14064-1 verification is a landmark moment for the Mi Hub Group and for our customers. We are proud to be the first in our industry to reach this level of accuracy and assurance in carbon reporting.

“This outcome reflects months of rigorous work across our teams, and it provides a credible foundation for customers who rely on us as part of their own sustainability journey. Verified data matters, and this achievement sets a new benchmark for our sector.”

Mi Hub’s operations and customer base spans several brands including Alexandra across multiple regions which brings significant complexity to emissions calculation.

To ensure consistency and reliability, its ESG team created five tailored methodologies aligned to ISO principles of completeness, consistency, accuracy, transparency and relevance. These frameworks highlight data gaps, drive continuous improvement and provide a clear blueprint for future reporting.
