You’ll know the name, now get to know the person. Andrea Charteris, customer services manager at PenCarrie, talks about rugby, nose-picking and solving mysteries

Andrea (circled) with members of the PenCarrie team. She joined the company 25 years ago, just a few months after it was founded

How long have you been working in the industry?
Twenty-five years. I joined PenCarrie only a couple of months after Paul, Caroline and Penny started the company

What’s your most over-used word or phrase?
“Will you lot just be nice to each other please?” Constantly, to my three squabbling (but gorgeous) kids, aged 14, nine and four!

Which tune can’t you get out of your head at the moment?
The Chainsmokers – Closer (thanks to my 14-year-old daughter!)

What’s your favourite sports team?
The England rugby team

Tomato ketchup or brown sauce?
Tomato ketchup

What is the most embarrassing thing that’s ever happened to you at work?
Look away now if you’re eating. After complaints from colleagues, I once had to ask someone to please refrain from picking their nose at their desk…and eating it. Lowlight of my managerial career and so awkward!

What’s your most unappealing habit?
Correcting other people’s grammar and spelling!

What’s your guilty pleasure?
Crisps – lots of them

What’s your hidden talent?
I play netball – as goal shoot!

If you were to pursue another occupation what would it be?
Police detective or criminal lawyer

If you could be anywhere on earth right now, where would you be?
The Maldives

Which gadget or app couldn’t you live without?
My iPhone

If you could ask one person (living or dead) one question, what would you ask?
How to choose?! It would have to solve a great unsolved mystery for me, so perhaps I’d ask Marilyn Monroe if she was murdered or Jack the Ripper to reveal his true identity?

The Chainsmokers
