The high street’s jackets are an awful lot of fun this season. Happily, the imprint brands have followed suit, as this month’s round-up shows

River Island’s Badge Khaki Bomber Jacket

Brave Soul’s matching bomber jacket

This season’s runaway jacket favourite has to be the bomber. Every fashionista is slinging an MA1-inspired jacket across their shoulders, teaming them with dresses, trousers, skirts, suits, anything… The Badge Khaki Bomber Jacket from River Island is an achingly cool version with, as the name suggests, a number of badges planted across the front. Its imprint partner is the Brave Soul Bomber Jacket with ribbed cuff (BS143), which is available in new colours for winter. It has matching colour ribbed cuffs, hem and collar, and two side pockets.

Managing to combine the American-style bomber with the equally American-style college jacket is the extremely covetable embroidered jacket from New Look. Garment decorators looking to recreate the look can start by grabbing a College Jacket (JH041) from Just Hoods by AWDis. There are stripe details on its knitted collar, cuffs and waistband, as well as white-coloured stud fastenings.

Blue Inc’s AW16 navy zip-up jacket

The navy Harrington Jacket from Henbury

Harringtons are another on-going favourite with the crowds, and Blue Inc’s zip-up, navy jacket is a fine example that is expected to be snapped up this autumn. Henbury’s Harrington Jacket (H832), made from 100% nylon, is a good imprint match. This water-repellent garment in micro ripstop features a coil zipper with metal puller, set-in sleeves and embroidery access.

The country squire look is showing no signs of fading, with British brand Barbour going from strength to strength. The Barbour International Windshield Quilted Jacket is a fine example of a winter coat that can be dressed up or down, as can its imprint twin, the Tarah Jacket (TRA442) from Regatta Professional. The Tarah is available in navy, black and burgundy, is made from quilted, water-repellent micro-poplin and features a polyester taffeta lining.

Blue puffa coat from M&Co

The children’s Padded Jacket from Result

It’s not just grown-ups that get to wear funky coats – toddlers and children can get in on the act with a seriously cute puffa from M&Co. Over-sized puffa jackets have been huge on the AW16 catwalks, so this jacket is for style-monkeys everywhere (just remember to buy it in a size larger than you need to achieve top fashion points). A great imprint pair is Result’s Padded Jacket (R233J&Y) – a colourful, windproof, showerproof, lightweight jacket with contrast detail that is available for ages 2-13 years in four colourways.
