On-trend and in vogue – today’s fashionable brandable garments look right at home on the high street

The imprint market has moved on from the early days of producing one style of T-shirt for all. These days, fashion trends exert an ever stronger influence on the brandable garment sector, with slim-fit and fashion-fit tees becoming expected styles in any range.

While the imprint sector doesn’t offer updated styles every few weeks like the high street giants, the range of garments that echo retail influences means that trendy types can find the clothes they want, whether it’s for an online boutique, a street dance club or a trendy corporate uniform.
One of the key trends for 2016 is 80s-style bright, bold colours. The Tennis Tech Polo from French Connection is an acid orange polo that will hit the shelves next spring. For those looking for a similar style, the Asquith & Fox Men’s Polo (AQ010) comes in a huge array of vibrant colours. Following in the polo’s 80s’ footsteps is B London Boutique’s leopard-print leggings: American Apparel’s Cotton Spandex Jersey Legging (AA013), with its wide ranging colour palette, is its imprint pair.

Another 80s classic is the denim jacket: ASOS’s ripped denim jacket is likely to be an SS16 winner, but we prefer Brave Soul’s Duran acid wash denim jacket (BS107) with its dull silver buttons and contrast colour top stitch. Also offering a great jacket is Back in the Daze, an urban sportswear line from Topshop. Portwest’s Pilot Jacket (PW010) is a good starting point for creating a similar look.

Hoodies are always a favourite, and with 2016 set to be a year for mixing fabrics, the Get The Label hoodie with its contrast sleeves, floral prints and embroidered letters is bang on trend. A good imprint partner is Anvil’s full zip hooded sweatshirt (AV521).
