TheMagicTouch (TMT) rocked the award for Best Image Transfer Product of 2016, based on an application using the latest in white-toner technology, at the EuroTrophex show in Amsterdam.
The award winning entry consisted of a personalised Fender Telecaster Guitar, which had been decorated using the company’s new RST9.1 transfer paper and a TMT/OKi white toner printer. The transfer was applied to the body of the guitar using a traditional swing head heat press and then finished with six layers of clear resin varnish to match the factory original finish.
TMT also presented a selection of guitar picks decorated with unique personalised designs and printed using its image transfer process.
The company reports that the new RST9.1 transfer paper was specially developed to enable full-colour imaging onto a wide range of non-fabric products and substrates with rough surfaces, including untreated wood, slate, cork, ceramics, plastics, and MDF.
TMT added that the original design is from a photograph featuring the view from Dukes Bar at the Outrigger Hotel in Hawaii where the guitar is to be auctioned in December to raise money for local charities. The event will be hosted by Hawaii’s number one Rock star Henry Kapono.
