Tell us a bit about your business
We’ve been embroidery specialists for quite some time. We’ve always bought machines from GS UK, and we saw the Brother machine at a couple of trade shows and decided to branch out into printing. We’ve been meaning to do it for a while but we’ve never really been fans of screen printing so we decided to go into DTG.
How long have you had the Brother?
It’s been here for six weeks now. It’s such an amazing machine. The intricate details that you get on there and the speed at which it does it – it’s just so much better than other printing methods and is great for small runs.
What are its main advantages?
The durability of the print and the quality of the print is just amazing really. Our customers all love it and the speed at which we can get the garments to them as well is great. We’re already planning the next step – we’ll get another heat press first because the machine can keep two heat presses going, and then a pre-treatment machine, and then another printer.
Is there anything you’d like to see in an upgrade?
I would probably say the interface could be a bit better. I would probably order the menu a bit differently as it’s sometimes a bit tricky to navigate through.
Is there anything you know now that you’d wish you’d known at the beginning?
GS has been amazing with the tips that they’ve given us so we’ve had everything covered from the start. They offer really good training and support; Sean’s always on the end of the phone. I’ve even spoken to him on a Sunday afternoon, he’s always there to help us with anything.
