New for 2017 and Sol’s top pick for the year is the neoprene piqué and padded nylon Volcano jacket (01644)

The unisex Volcano is part of the Sol’s Catwalk collection, which launched on 1 January, 2017 and contains fashionable products from T-shirts and polos to sweatshirts, caps, bags and more. “A sense of fashion and ‘Designed in Paris’ are the key in this collection,” says Sol’s. “All the garments appeal to the retail and fashion markets thanks to their attractive design, on-trend colours and high-end positioning.”

The jacket has already received excellent feedback from Sol’s international distributors, confirms the brand. “What makes this jacket so appealing is all the refined details that have been added into it. First, the neoprene piqué and nylon fabric keeps you warm while being super stylish. The fact that this jacket is made from two materials makes it very trendy and modern. Also, the round neck with press studs gives that cool American style which draws inspiration from teddy jackets. In addition, the ribbed finishes with contrasted stripes at collar and cuffs give a modern and contemporary style to this jacket.”

Neoprene piqué

The neoprene piqué in 320 gsm 65% polyester/30% viscose/5% elastane is used in the back and sleeves, and is lightweight, thermo regulating, breathable, and also very resistant. “Neoprene is actually a very new technical fabric, which has been requested a lot by our customers,” Sol’s adds. “Technical fabrics such as this one are very trendy at the moment.” The jacket also includes a water-repellent topstitched padded nylon front body.

The use of two materials allows for the use of a combination of decoration techniques, according to the brand: transfer print, flex and embroidery on the body and sleeves, and the sleeves could also be screen printed.

The jacket is currently available in charcoal melange/black and grey melange/metal grey colourways. Depending on sales, more colours may be introduced, says Sol’s, adding: “Maybe a French navy or a nice denim would be nice for this garment.” It is aimed at the retail and fashion markets, although it would be equally at home in the corporate, schoolwear and collegewear markets.
