Described as “the perfect summer vest”, this excellent sleeveless tank is from the punk rock-inspired brand Modern Streets.
Founded by Jack Parkinson in July 2020, the independent clothing company is known for its arresting designs with a tattoo/punk aesthetic. “It was a bedroom project originally, baking up T-shirts in a spare room before moving into a business park to free up the house as it was taking over,” explains Jack. “Two and a half years into the business we moved into our retail space in Afflecks Manchester so we could have a space to make our own while also being online.”
The Just Chillin, Killin “perfect summer vest” is, like all of its prints, designed by the Modern Streets team. “I usually concept ideas which I then commision to come to life by different illustrators before adding text, colours and additional graphics myself.”
Super suppliers
The company uses transfer supplier Supacolour for all of its our prints. ‘We’ve been using them since the start and have no plans on changing as the prints are so vibrant and wash so well that our customers have grown confident in what we sell. We usually order 100 of each design, or sometimes 20 if we just want to test the water if we’re unsure.”
They’ve been using blank supplier AS Colour since the beginning “as everything is pre-shrunk cotton, which is important for us. There’s nothing worse than your favourite T-shirt shrinking after a wash or two, and we’ve found these t-shirts hold up really well when washed and don’t fade.”
