The team from Bella+Canvas were named best in show at the latest successful outing for The BIG Wearables Trade Show alongside The BIG New Products Trade Show.

The Manchester fixture for the touring trade exhibition was held at Lancashire Cricket Club’s events venue, The Point, at Emirates Old Trafford last month.

It was declared a success by both visitors and exhibitors ahead of The BIG shows team’s next events: the Promotional Showcase in Crawley on 9 October and The BIG New Products Trade Show and The BIG Wearables Trade Show at Heathrow on 16 October.

At Trafford, Bella+Canvas was winner of the best wearables stand award while USB2U was named best promo stand at The BIG New Products Trade Show.

Tom Robey, membership director of the British Promotional Merchandise Association (BPMA), presented the awards, sponsored by Crystal Galleries, which were handed to Zazie Hillsden, brand manager for Bella+Canvas, and Andy Gossage, head of sales at USB2U.

Visitor Abi Robinson from promotional product specialist Brand Addition, commented: “I think it’s even busier than last time, and I’ve enjoyed catching up with our suppliers and seeing new products.”

Visitor Steven Johnson, managing director of Cheshire-based Indigo Promotions, said: “It’s a great show, and a local one for us, so it’s a good chance to chat to suppliers and get to see what’s new in person.”

Mick Humphries and colleagues from TC Branding travelled all the way up from Horsham in West Sussex for the show. Mick, who is sales director, said: “This isn’t a show we normally come to but it’s been brilliant. A nice and intimate atmosphere, and lots of ideas for the gifting season.”

Andrew Williams, sales director at exhibitor The Laltex Group, based west of Manchester, added: “We’ve experienced a real rush on our stand this morning – it’s one of the biggest shows we do and it’s on home turf, which makes it even better.”

Now in their seventh year, the BIG shows are trade only and designed to cater purely for bona fide distributor companies where promotional merchandise, printwear and wearables is the primary business. They are organised on a not-for-profit basis.
