Whether it’s pedigree pups or mangy mutts, decorators’ dogs are valued members of staff at embroidery and print shops from Barking to Furness. This month we have Spud and Jaxx from The Logo Emporium, in Chalvington, East Sussex
Full names: Spud, and Jaxx Parris.
Breed: Spud is a terrier and Jaxx is a fox red lab.
Age: Spud is seven years old and Jaxx is five.
Time at company: Two years for Spud; Jaxx is still in his probation period.
Job title: Generalist for Spud, shadow for Jaxx.
Job description: Spud takes on the responsibilities of various roles at The Logo Emporium and has proven to be very meticulous when it comes to embroidery. Jaxx’s job is to follow everyone who gets out of their seat.
Special skills: Spud sleeps through every thread break but appears the second someone opens the biscuit tin. Jaxx’s special skills are hovering and sulking.
Favourite colour: For Spud, it’s 478C, the colour of his favourite sausage treats. Jaxx likes Blue 293 – his human, Shannon, says it’s because it’s one of the only colours dogs can see, plus he loves Bluey.
