Promotional product business software OnSite has been designed for the garment decoration industry to help track and manage orders. The latest version, OnSite 8, has been designed to run the entire business, eliminating the need for multiple systems that require information to be re-entered each time: Shopworks estimates that the typical screen printing company uses four to six different systems.
Once the date has been entered into OnSite 8 it can be used for job quotes, marketing to prospects, order entry, art room scheduling, production scheduling, shipping and receiving, and invoicing and accounting.
It offers a size matrix for apparel items, and can issue and track purchase orders to vendors as well as manage sub-contractors. It can calculate prices based on industry pricing codes, and SAGE sourcing is integrated to make creating quotes and orders simple and efficient.
Business owners can quickly check the status of all orders with a few clicks of the mouse, says the company, and it promises seamless integration on-premises and in the cloud. OnSite 8 has improved features such as accounting functions, which now include the ability to handle eCheck payments and refunds; an inventory app to allow staff to check and update the level of product from any mobile device; the ability to create and manage coupons; and an externally hosted cloud computing option.
Shopworks is available for a monthly fee.
DecoNetwork is an all-in-one, cloud-based business management program for print and embroidery professionals. It offers businesses e-commerce websites along with online designer and business tools to allow them to streamline orders, purchasing, production and customer management.
Products that are to be personalised are optimised for print and embroidery with defined areas and suitability filters. The online designer is an in-built graphics tool that allows customers to customise the products, and DecoNetwork says it also acts as a great interactive sales tool. It creates production-ready files, and the joined-up nature of the e-commerce site and the business software side allows DecoNetwork to manage the whole process from creating a visual quote and converting it to an order, to streamlining production and shipping.
It’s a secure multi-user solution, which allows staff at multiple locations to use the system, and different user privileges can also be applied. Sales staff can raise quotes and order while out on the road, says the company, while the production team updates orders and shipping statuses and the account staff manage invoices and statements.
The system allows the manager to have a live newsfeed of every aspect of the business, so they can see if capacity needs to be increased, whether certain products are more popular than others and which customers have overdue accounts.
There are four pay-as-you-go plans to choose from, starting at £68 per month, with no activation fees, no lock-in contract and no transaction fees.
ShirtTools provides decorators with an e-commerce store that includes an online designer tool to allow customers to personalise products online. After creating their design they can request a quote or checkout online.
There are two online designer modules built into ShirtTools: one is for full-colour digital printing and the other for vinyl cutting. The shop chooses the right module for each product so customers aren’t faced with the confusing decision of which print process to use. The interface has been designed to be user-friendly: for example the designer responds to keyboard commands such as delete and arrows for positioning.
It is mobile responsive, allowing the site to scale to the size of the screen it is being viewed on, which is important not just for easy viewing, but also because Google and other search engines now take mobile-friendliness into account when generating search results. It is coded in HTML5 and Java script so designs can be created on touch-screen phones and tablets.
Files are downloaded in vector SVG or high resolution PNG with a transparent background. All currencies and languages are supported, and it has more than 650 fonts (more can be uploaded by the printshop if needed), and seven-day, UK-based support is provided.
The software is available for a one-time fee of £650: there are no monthly fees or commissions to pay.
