The Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) is seeking the views of owners of small businesses such as garment decorators on the impact of US tariffs.

It has launched a survey to understand the potential impact on their operations and future growth after a 10% tariff was imposed on nearly all UK exports to the USA from 5 April.

With 59% of small UK exporters currently selling to the US, the FSB is calling for immediate government action to mitigate the damage and safeguard jobs and businesses.

Tina McKenzie, policy chair of the FSB, said: “The imposition of tariffs is a significant blow to small UK exporters, many of whom rely on the US market.”

The FSB would also like to hear from businesses importing from the USA as the Government considers whether to impose reciprocal tariffs.

The survey will close on 27 April 2025 and can be filled out by clicking here.
