New technical polos for 2016
“Henbury golfwear is designed to work with the body’s temperature, which allows the player to concentrate on the game rather than their clothing,” says Henbury, whose technical polos are made from wicking Coolplus smart fabrics.
The brand has introduced two new Coolplus polos for 2016: the Men’s Tipped Short Sleeved Polo (H482) and the Long Sleeved Polo (H478). The long-sleeved polo is available in six colours and sizes XS-2XL, and the short comes in sizes XS-3XL.
The Coolplus Anti-Bacterial Polo (H472) features contrast piping on side seams, shoulder and placket and is available in black/white, navy/light blue and sapphire/navy (S-2XL). It also features Aegis Microbe Shield, an antimicrobial technology that controls odour, staining and deterioration caused by bacteria, fungus and other micro-organisms.
Also from Henbury is the Quarter Zip Wicking Top (H862), which features concealed front zip pockets and a front quarter length zip with puller, and comes in black and grey marl (XS-2XL).

Waterproof overtrouser and breathable jacket
“Bad weather shouldn’t stop you from getting out on the green, and Regatta Professional has everything you need to continue playing come rain or shine,” says the brand. The Linton Overtrouser is ideal for keeping water at bay thanks to its Isotex 5000-coated polyester fabric and taped seams for true waterproof protection. The material is also windproof and, for added comfort, the trousers have an elasticated drawcord waist, adjusters at the ankle, protective overlays to knees and seat area, and a zip gusset at the hem.
For treks between the holes, the Dover Plus Breathable Jacket is a great choice, offering similar quality to the Linton, such as waterproof and breathable Isotex 5000-coated polyester fabric, as well as 220 series anti-pill Symmetry fleece-lined body and thermo-guard insulation in the sleeves for warmth. There is also a concealed zip entrance in the lining for embroidery access.

Result offers a range of jackets for golfers such as the R109X Extreme Climate Stopper Fleece, a luxuriously soft feel microfleece that is water-repellent and has a breathable rating of 3,000 g. It is a three-layer, bonded fabric jacket that offers great warmth without being bulky, comes in sizes XS-3XL and in black, navy and moss.
Also from Result is the Classic Soft Shell Jacket (R121M/F), a high performance, active-cut, three-layer softshell that the brand says has a sleek, minimalist classic design. Features of the technical mid-layer jacket include a longer back panel, multiple zip-closing pockets and a decorative front and back yoke. It comes in sizes S-4XL (men) and S-2XL (women) and in a choice of black, grey, navy, red and azure.
The final jacket from Result is the Waterproof Leisure Jacket (R126X), a lightweight blouson that is both waterproof and windproof, comes in sizes S-3XL and in black, black/red, navy and bottle/red.

Russell has a couple of polos that are perfect for golfers, including the Ultimate Cotton Polo (577), which is made from 100% pre-washed, combed, ringspun cotton, providing a finer surface that Russell says is ideal for detailed embroidery. It has great colour and shape retention, says the brand, adding: “It makes the perfect gift for keen golfers and for club tournaments.” It comes in sizes XS-4XL (men) and XS-2XL (women).
The Stretch Polo (566) for men and women have both been cut to flatter with their slim fit styles and are made from 95% cotton/5% Lycra for great stretch and ease of movement.
Dedicated golfers don’t let the weather stop play, and Russell’s water-resistant, breathable Sports Shell 5000 Jacket (520) will help them keep cosy and comfortable in the rain and cold. It is made from a natural stretch soft-shell fabric with articulated elbows, laser-cut pockets, waterproof zips, adjustable cuffs and internal MP3 inner pocket.

Spiro has a number of garments to appeal to the golfing fraternity. First up is the Men’s Airflow Softshell Gilet (S262M), a two-layer softshell with a mesh back for breathability and an elasticated hem with rubber grip to stop the garment riding up.
Next up is the Freedom Softshell Jacket (S256M/F), a windproof, quick-dry, two-layer jacket made from soft athletic stretch fabric and with features such as a full front zip with inner storm flap and a back pocket with self-lock waterproof zip.
For warmer days there is the Spiro Team Spirit Polo (S177M/F) made from Cool Dry mesh fabric. This lightweight, soft, breathable polo can be teamed with Spiro’s water-repellent, breathable, lightweight and anti-static Micro Lite Team Pant (S179M/F).
Caps are always a winner on the green. Spiro recommends the Fold Up Baseball Cap (RC078X), a quick-dry, lightweight, windproof, breathable cap with three-section peak that now comes in lime as well as red, black, navy, royal and white.
