Luxury lightweight jacket
The S108M/F Nero Jacket is a lightweight, waterproof and breathable soft-to-touch yet tough jacket that offers its wearers luxury and attention to detail. It gives all-round protection and comes with a detachable waterproof hood with tear-release and has been designed to perform in all climates. The quick-drying, three-layer, laminated fabric provides excellent insulation with a high warmth-to-weight ratio. It also has two lined, zip-closing side pockets, wired peak and drawcord.
New polos for children
New this year for the small trendsetters is the Papini polo range aimed at children, the Junior Elites. The line features six contrast styles – Milano, Asti, Luca, Novara, Verona and Sienna – all of which are available from stock and build on the success of the adult Elite range. The stylish two- and three-colourway Junior Elite polos are available from age 5-6 years up to 11-12 years.
Papini developed its Retro polo after listening to customer feedback. The range initially came in six two-tone colourways – navy/emerald, navy/sky, navy/red, black/yellow, black/orange and black/cyan – with a new black/ red polo added following the line’s success. These single-tipped polos have a retro look combined with modern styling such as a tailored fit, long line placket and shorter sleeves. They are, says the brand, perfect for the discerning fashionista.
According to Mantis World, urban fashion is all about individuality and originality, with the brand adding: “The right T-shirt can provide the perfect base for endless expression.”
Mantis World says it doesn’t aim to be the cheapest: “If standing out and making an impact is the end goal, then the quality has to be up to scratch, for a less-than-great garment isn’t going to stand up to style-based-scrutiny.” The brand’s Superstar Ts for both men and women use soft, peached fabric and have a tear-off back neck label, meaning there is no fiddly or cost-heavy delabelling required in making the garment into a unique item.
“Whether deliberately worn oversized or too small; whatever and however they are decorated and worn is according to the customers’ style,” says Mantis World. “With a ‘well made’ ethos encapsulating all that Mantis World do, and a desire to offer customers something that’s brilliantly wearable whilst being carefully manufactured, we’re the perfect partner for the best of creative minds and designs.”

Regatta Professional is combining function with fashion and lifestyle influences to create products that the wearer would happily wear to the pub as well as to work. This can be seen in the 2016 range, with products such as the Tyler/Tarah quilted jacket in a diamond-quilted, water-repellent, micro-poplin. Bodywarmer versions of both jackets are also available, with all the styles coming in navy and black, and the men’s styles also available in khaki green and the women’s in burgundy.
Another example of Regatta’s urban styling is the Geometer bodywarmer, made from a lightweight, polyamide fabric with a water-repellent finish and using warmloft performance technology insulation. It also features a polyester taffeta lining and a grown-on hood with stretch binding.
The Regatta Hard Wear range also includes items with a strong fashion influence such as the Tempered fleece with elbow and shoulder colour blocking, and the Enforcer, a warm-backed softshell with an ATL durable water-repellent finish.
The top trends for 2016
Fur is a hot trend this winter, according to Ralawise, whose new Affordable Fashion range offers the latest on-trend styles. The distributor’s newest brand, Brave Soul, taps into the trend with its BS112 Wirral Padded Parka and BS128 Ladies Military Parka, both featuring fur-lined hoods. Result Urban Outdoorwear’s RE73X Cyclone Parka and RE62X Urban 2000 Stormdri Long Parka also sport fur trims.
Padded jackets are a trendy choice, with 2786’s TS016 and TS16F Padded Jackets giving customers a fashionable yet practical option, along with B&C’s duck-down coat, the Cocoon+.
Ralawise adds that another big trend for 2016 is knitwear, with brands such as Premier, Henbury, Glenmuir and Brave Soul all offering fashionable knitted styles.
Asquith & Fox’s Polo Shirt comes in 24 colours, including the classic winter shades of burgundy, cherry red and purple, while the JH003 Varsity Hoodie from Just Hoods by AWDis is also offered in burgundy, with gold.
