Roland DG introduced two new, wide format, eco-solvent inkjet printers/cutters to its TrueVis range in September.

According to Roland DG, the SG-300 and SG-540 offer “excellent colour quality, versatility and ease-of-use with significant enhancements: new Roland DG FlexFire print heads, new 4-colour TrueVIS Ink, advanced integrated print & cut technology and a host of additional state-of-the-art features”.

The company says the SG series is ideal for those starting out in wide-format print production or those looking to extend their wide-format offering. They are available in 762 mm (30″) and 1371 mm (54″) widths and can be used for a wide range of applications.

The new Roland VersaWorks Dual RIP software is included and it features a new core engine that the company says “quickly and accurately processes both native PDFs as well as legacy PostScript files, including files with transparencies”. Along with the built-in control panel there is a new Roland DG Mobile Panel that enables users to manage the printer functions remotely using a smartphone or tablet with a Bluetooth connection.

“With high quality output, versatility and reliability, the TrueVis SG series delivers a superb return on investment,” commented Andrew Oransky, general manager of sign business development for Roland DG. “Cost-effective and easy-to-use, print service providers can start making money with their SG from day one by expanding the range of applications they offer to their existing customers and opening up profitable new markets.”
