Ricoh has confirmed that the Ri 1000, the company’s new direct-to-garment printer that was launched at SGIA in Las Vegas, US, in October 2018, will be available in the UK in May 2019.
The Ri 1000, which will be displayed on the Resolute stand at Printwear & Promotion Live! in January, is reported to print full-colour graphics at 1,200 x 1,200 dpi and promises automatic maintenance features and a built-in ‘Interactive Operation Guide’. Other features include quick-change magnetic platens, which are available in various styles and sizes up to 16 x 19.6″, and a durable steel construction.
The new printer is said to be capable of printing a full-colour, 10” x 18″ CMYK image in 28 seconds. Its automated maintenance sequences clean print heads and agitate white ink regularly, reports the company, as well as continuously monitoring the ink supply, air level and dampers, and adjusting where necessary.
“The Ricoh Ri 1000 is our most user-friendly, full-featured DTG machine yet.” comments the company.
