What do you love about working in the garment industry? And what do you loathe? Rachael Beckett and Emma Dobney of Feed Me Thread share their pet likes and dislikes…

LOVE IT!

  • Owning our own business together means we get to spend all day together.

  • Making new friends and helping them create their embroidery visions.

  • We really enjoy the magic of something starting as an image, then a digitised file and then when it’s finally stitched.

  • Opening up a fresh box of bobbins, oooh, it’s like Christmas morning!

  • Seeing people make sales from the merch we’ve helped them create.

LOATHE IT!

  • Missing the DPD delivery when you’re waiting on an order.

  • When someone wants to order their items but one of the garments is out of stock across all our suppliers. That’s sad.

  • Dropping the bobbin and watching it unravel away from your feet.

  • Misplacing your scissors (aka Emma not leaving them where I like them kept).

  • When you’re using squares of backing and they keep moving off the 15cm hoop inside the garment when you’re trying to frame up. Grrr!
