Get up to speed on the new Sol’s Running & Fitness range

According to Isabelle Attal, Sol’s area manager, running has evolved from being an individual sport into more of a group discipline. The growth of charity runs and marathons has seen running become trendy, she says, adding: “As with all trends, running has its own rituals and dress codes. Today it is almost impossible to run without the right legging, the breathable T-shirt and, for safety, the neon jacket.”

Sol’s has tapped into this growth with the launch of its Running and Fitness line, a range of 11 technical garments available in neon coral, neon yellow, black and white.

Included in the range are short- and long-sleeve T-shirts – the Sydney Running T (01414, women’s style 01415) and Berlin Running T (01416, women’s style 01417) – as well as a racerback tank top with contrast piping, the Ladies Rio Running T (01418). For the bottom half there are the Chicago Running Short (01412, women’s style 01413) and London Running Legging (01410 and 01411). Dry-fit and stretchy, these products are made for comfort, while for colder days there is a water-repellent, lightweight, running jacket – the New York Running Soft Shell (01471, women’s style 01473).

“The products are breathable thanks to the yokes in mesh; the flat seams avoid friction; and the reflective prints lead to a higher visibility,” says Isabelle. “It is all about the comfort and safety of the wearer.”

All the garments can be decorated: the tops are suitable for screen printing, embroidery, transfer, flex, digital and sublimation; the leggings and shorts can be screen printed; and the jackets are suitable for transfer. “For all these sports articles polythane inks are good, as well as low bleed plastisol inks, which are particularly flexible, resistant to folding and to repeated washes,” explains Isabelle. “For the Sol’s New York products, adding some flexible catalysts and adhesion primers will be necessary since the fabrics have a water-repellent treatment in order to combat humid weather conditions.”

The garments have been well received by UK customers, with Sol’s now planning to expand the range. Isabelle adds, “This range is a perfect combination of quality and price and the on-trend styles and colours make it an easy choice for re-branding and decoration.”
