A new European industry event is set to take place this year, bringing together manufacturers, distributors and other companies involved in screen printing.

Screen Print Innovations (SPI) will run from 3 to 5 June at Messe Essen in Germany, encompassing the breadth of screen and pad printing including industrial textile and garment printing.

The organisers from ESMA, the European Specialist Printing Manufacturers Association, are taking a “horizontal” approach, hoping to attract visitors from sectors such as automotive and healthcare as well as textiles.

SPI’s launch partners are suppliers of industrial screen print including CST, Drop, Fimor, Gallus, GPE A Ardenghi, Grafco, Grünig, Kissel+Wolf, Lüscher Technologies, Printcolor, Pröll, PVF Mesh & Screen Technology, RK Siebdrucktechnik, Saati, Sefar, SignTronic, Sport PrintLab, SPS TechnoScreen, Sun Chemical, Thieme and VFP Ink Technologies.

However, the organisers said they expected to be able to announce exhibitors involved in industrial-scale textile and garment screen printing shortly.

ESMA’s CEO, Peter Buttiens, said: “Although seasoned, screen and pad printing keep on evolving and advancing in terms of precision, automation and quality. Applications across different market segments drive continual innovation. The key is disseminating that innovation.

“We build on the experience of our members and know-how accumulated in over 30 years of our service to the industry. Together we have recognised the need for a format which will present the latest developments and discuss the power of expanding, adapting or combining for specific market requirements.”

ESMA is operated as a “knowledge hub” for the industrial, functional and specialty printing markets, with members made up of global technology suppliers such as ColorGate, EFI, Fiery, Nazdar and Ricoh.
