Hybrid Services, UK and Irish distributor of Mimaki, has announced a free update for the FineCut plugin software that supports Adobe’s recently released Illustrator CC2018 application on both Mac and PC platforms.

Promising seamless cutting workflow, the FineCut plugin is supplied free of charge with all Mimaki’s pinch roll and flatbed cutting plotters and is said to streamline the production process, enabling users to work in industry standard software yet with hardware specific options to hand.

“Mimaki FineCut is a powerful yet simple-to-use addition to both Illustrator and CorelDraw and this update ensures users with the latest version of the Adobe package can integrate the production process,” commented Hybrid’s technical services manager, Jeff Marsh. “Available to download for free via the Hybrid website, customers will be able to update their existing installation quickly and easily.”

According to the company, as well as being part of the software package provided with Mimaki’s printer/cutters, FineCut works alongside Mimaki’s RasterLink RIP package to integrate the design > print > cut process as part of an intuitive workflow.

Existing Mimaki FineCut users can update their software for free via a link to a download on Mimaki’s global website by visiting www.hybridservices.co.uk/fc8.
