The new MHM IQ-Digital being tested in Italy before being shown at SGIA in Las Vegas, US, in September
MHM launched the IQ-Digital hybrid digital/screen printing press at the SGIA show, describing the new machine as a ‘game changer’.
Marketed by the company as being “the first digital hybrid solution for true high volume, high quality textile printing”, the IQ-Digital has a maximum speed of 1080 pieces per hour and a maximum print area of 63 x 120 cm, with printing on both sides of the machine enabling the personalisation of two pieces in one high speed pass. It uses water-based inks and features Ricoh digital print heads.
“This amazing new innovation in automated digital production utilises the unique aspects of the ground-breaking IQ-Oval; with its modular approach the machine is perfect to accept the new MHM digital bridge,” said John Potter, managing director of MHM Direct GB. “High speed, low quantity production runs are finally possible using the proven digital technology of Ricoh print heads and the superb reliability of the MHM IQ-Oval. Adding special effects to digital prints is now easily achievable: discharge, foil and even flock can be used in conjunction with DTG all at the same time on the same machine.
“The MHM IQ-Digital is a real game changer in the DTG arena and has been already described as the most exciting development in high production digital garment decoration.”
