From the outset, ink manufacturer Magna Colours has worked with and developed water-based printing inks. The company now produces water-based screen printing ink that meets the exacting RSL (restricted substances list) requirements of international brands and retailers, and claims to have “earned a reputation as the world leader in water-based technology”.
New products from Magna include the MagnaPrint Aquaflex White and neutral. This high solids, water-based, high opacity white gives a soft flexible hand, offers great machine and screen performance and meets the extended durability requirements of sportswear retailers.
Also new is the MagnaPrint HB System, which has a non-drying opaque and neutral base for a discharge look and feel on non-discharge goods. It can be printed through high mesh counts – up to 320 mesh – and will not block the screen.
The final new product line is the MagnaPrint Reflective range of high candle power RTU inks, which offers black, silver and clear reflective bases. Clear reflectives can be printed on top of colours or pigmented to achieve a Pantone shade.
The Magnaprint product range is free from PVC, phthalates, APEO and formaldehyde, compliant with Safety Standard BS – EN71 and certified to Eco Passport for use on Oeko-Tex certified garments.
The company is particularly proud of its laboratory based in Dodworth, South Yorkshire. “This state-of-the-art facility is a crucial link in our customer support chain, and it’s here that you’ll find qualified, trained personnel working with the latest technology to ensure you enjoy the best customer and technical support whenever you need it,” says the company.
