Launched earlier this year, Kustom Kit’s new Workwear Fleece (KK906) was created following extensive research, explains the brand’s product manager, Clare Dwyer
”We’re extremely conscious of establishing a desire or ‘want to wear’ mentality throughout our product offering, as opposed to the ‘have to wear’ attitude that we so often see within our market. We’re also acutely aware of the latest trends in both fabric innovation and design, and our inspiration comes from combining this fashion-led approach with the needs of the current workwear market.
“We identified a gap in the market for a modern, functional workwear jacket. It had became apparent that an increasing number of tradespeople were resorting to buying workwear fleeces from the high street as they felt there were no adequate options at the right price in our industry. We believe our new Workwear Fleece bridges that gap.”
Customer feedback has been very encouraging, she adds, with many highlighting the garment’s modern fit and styling. The premium 360gsm 100% polyester bonded microfleece fabric has also drawn praise: “It’s as tough as the tasks for which it is designed to be worn,” and provides “double the warmth without excessive bulk,” says Clare. “We believe this material is the perfect combination of durability and softness, warmth and breathability. It’s also quick to dry and easy care.”
Owing to its durability and practicality, we see this product appealing to anyone engaged in physical labour
Other standout features include the practical full-front zip, twin side pockets with zips, and zipped chest pocket. The pockets have metal zips and cord pullers, Taslan patches on each sleeve provide additional durability and are complemented by the Taslan shoulder/yoke details, and there is a curved, dropped back hem for extra protection.
“Owing to its durability and practicality, we see this product appealing to anyone engaged in physical labour. It provides a welcome layer of warmth without restricting movement, making it a real mass appeal product. It is also smart enough for customer-facing roles and its fashion credentials make it an equally attractive option for sport and leisure applications,” says Clare.
The fleece can be embroidered, while the Taslan patches can be screen printed, extending the branding options. It is available in black, graphite and navy, and in sizes S-2XL, and can be partnered with Kustom Kit’s new Workwear Trouser (KK806).
