Last year Pantone took the surprise decision to choose two colours of the year – Serenity (pale blue) and Rose Quartz (dusky pink) – but the company has returned to the traditional single colour for 2017 with “a fresh and zesty yellow-green shade that evokes the first days of spring when nature’s greens revive, restore and renew.” Pantone adds that Greenery is, “Illustrative of flourishing foliage and the lushness of the great outdoors, the fortifying attributes of Greenery signals consumers to take a deep breath, oxygenate and reinvigorate.”

Nature’s neutral, Greenery is a versatile trans-seasonal shade that lends itself to many colour combinations.

The ‘Pantone Color of the Year’ provides a “symbolic colour selection; a colour snapshot of what we see taking place in our global culture that serves as an expression of a mood and an attitude.”
