Manufacturer Gildan has introduced an innovation to its garments which aims to reduce the need for pre-treatment.

Called Plasma Print Technology, it is designed to offer softer fabrics, brighter colours, improved ink coverage and enhanced print consistency.

Dave Gardner, Gildan’s director of creative embellishment, described it as “revolutionary”, adding: “We believe it is a game-changing technology for digital printers.”

Gildan has also introduced Soft Cotton Technology, described as “a fabric innovation that redefines softness and comfort”.

It will be incorporated into the Gildan brand’s new Light Cotton collection, offering customers a softer touch and improved printability qualities, all at the same durability and value as before.

Introducing the innovations at Impressions Expo in Long Beach, California, last week, Gildan also presented new styles including 3000 and 3000B to the new Light Cotton collection, 75000, 19500 and 19000 to the Gildan Hammer Maxweight collection, and SF008 and SF100 to the Softstyle Midweight Fleece collection.
