The Spyder II-MHM direct-to-screen system
MHM Direct GB has been appointed as the exclusive agent for the Spyder II-MHM direct-to-screen (DTS) system in the UK.
The system has been adopted by companies such as Fashion UK, Fanela, RunSmart, Razamataz, Meesha Graphics and Countryside Art since it launched a year ago. It has a redesigned printhead control system and a new touchscreen software interface, allowing it to print twice as fast as its predecessor with no loss of image control. A typical T-shirt screen image can be imaged in under a minute, enabling the production of 100+ screens a day at screen resolutions up to 110 lpi.
The Spyder II-MHM uses high-density solid thermal wax resin ink to apply artwork directly to a coated screen for a clean halftone dot that retains its shape, even in highlighted areas, with minimal dot gain and no overspray or satellite dots. It also uses the unique MHM pin registration system to ensure precise registration from screen-to-screen and from the Spyder to MHM printing press. No vacuum is required for UV exposure and the wax ink is water soluble and non-hazardous, allowing for fast and easy wash-out.
