Quality wearable accessories are a proven way for decorators to boost profits through cross-selling. Here’s our round-up of the latest hats, scarves, ties and other wearable add-ons to hit the market

Bold, vibrant knits

Beechfield’s new knitwear styles make their debut in the company’s autumn/winter collection. The knitwear range includes seven designs, which “strike the perfect balance between fashion and practicality,” says Beechfield. The heritage-inspired Glencoe Beanie (B429) is designed with multi-colour fleck and is available in five colourways. The beanie has a double layer ribbed knit, and Beechfield says it’s the perfect year-round accessory. It has a cuffed design to give optimal areas for decoration and has a tear-away label. Also new is the Aurora Pom Pom Beanie (B484) whose signature features include a soft thermal band and large tonal pom pom.

Baby and toddler essentials

Larkwood offers a range of baby bibs, including the Baby Bib (LW082), in 100% 200 gsm cotton and 16 colours. The brand also recommends the Terry Towel Bib (LW022), in 245 gsm, 80% cotton/20% polyester, and Reversible Bandana Bib (LW081), in 200 gsm 100% cotton – a modern alternative to the standard bib. The Baby Knotted Hat (LW091) is another popular accessory that’s available in three colours and can be easily embroidered or printed on. Another option is the Baseball Cap (LW090), which is available in three sizes from 6-12 months to 3-5 years, and four colours.

Layering up a hard hat

Snickers recommends the Coolmax Balaclava Liner (9011) as a great, warm accessory. The brand says it helps to “boost comfort and protect neck and face from the elements under your hard hat”. The balaclava is soft, thin and stretchy, and made from breathable Coolmax material, which helps to keep the wearer’s head warm and ventilated. The light, thin design helps it to fit comfortably underneath a hard hat, protecting the wearer from the elements while still being breathable and transporting moisture away from the body. The black balaclava is available in one size.

New winter hats

Result has introduced new products to its Winter Essentials range for AW16/17. The new Ocean Trapper Hat (RC032X) is a deerstalker style with adjustable stud fastener to secure the ear flaps under the chin. The hat is made from 100% polyester, has four panels and decorative stitching on the ear flaps, and reflective details for added visibility. Also new is the Core Softex Beanie (RC031X) – an oversize, lightweight, double layered knit hat in 25 rainbow shades; Braided Hat (RC376X), which features a decorative braid knit, a black contrast Polartherm fleece inner and a foldable hem; Braided Snood (R377X), in black and grey; and the Double Layer Knitted Hat (RC378X), a chunky knit, double layer hat with foldable hem.

New Standout accessories

Accessories are a new addition to the Regatta Standout brand. The unisex Amston Caps form part of the new accessory range, and feature the classic sandwich peak along with ventilation eyelets to keep the wearer cool. The caps are available in 25 colourways. For colder weather, Regatta recommends the Axton Cuffed Beanie, which is made from a fully ribbed soft touch fabric with a double layer knit to lock in warmth. Regatta says the simple design of the beanie makes it ideal for personalisation and rebranding.

Colourful accents

Ralawise recommends the Asquith & Foxaccessories range, which includes the unisex Stretch Braid Belt (AQ900) in a choice of 14 colours. Asquith & Fox also offers three different styles of men’s underwear in a range of colours and in stylish, retail-inspired packaging. Ralawise also flags up the Knitted Turn-up Beanie (NS001) by Nutshell, which features a double layer knit and supersoft, hand-feel acrylic fabric, and comes in a wide range of 40 colours. The turn-up cuff provides an ideal area for embroidery and can be turned down for a more slouchy, fashion fit.

Athleisure headwear

Tombo says that the athleisure trend is here to stay, which is why running headbands are perfect for giveaways at events. Easy to decorate, they’re also practical items that will be worn time and again. The Running Headband (TL690) fits comfortably over the ears to block out the wind and protect against the cold. Tombo also recommends the Running Skull Hat (TL691), which covers the entire head. Both products are made from 100% polyester French terry and are available in one size and in black. Tombo’s range of headgear accessories is created with “function, fashion, fit and innovation at the forefront of the design”.

Cosy hats for winter

Sol’s will keep people warm this winter, says PenCarrie, thanks to its cable-knit Barney Pom Pom Beanie (01199), which is available in four colours, and also the rib-knit Breeze Pom Pom Beanie (01197) in a choice of three two-colour styles. PenCarrie also recommends Beechfield’s foam-padded Suprafleece Ear Muffs (BB242), which are made from ultra-thermal fabric for warmth without the weight. Beechfield’s Suprafleece Dolomite Scarf (BB291) and Suprafleece Alpine Gloves (BB296) also get the thumbs up: both are made from 100% polyester Suprafleece and ideal for skiers. Result Headwear is another PenCarrie favourite, due to its mix of vibrant colours and sizes. Included in the range is the Heavy Cotton Drill Pro-Style Cap (RC010), which comes in a choice of seven colours, including camo.
