Print technology company Epson has achieved the EcoVadis platinum rating for sustainability for the second year running, placing it among the top 1% of companies globally.
Epson, which manufactures equipment for garment printing, achieved an overall score of 84 out of 100, placing it in the 99th percentile of more than 130,000 companies assessed globally.
EcoVadis, which is one of the world’s most trusted providers of business sustainability ratings, evaluates companies across four key areas.
Out of 100, Epson scored 91 for environment, 89 for labour and human rights, 72 for ethics and 77 for sustainable procurement.
EcoVadis ratings provide an independent assessment covering companies’ sustainability management systems, policies, actions and reporting, helping organisations demonstrate responsible business practices throughout their operations and supply chains.
Takanori Inaho, president of Epson Europe, said: “Achieving EcoVadis platinum status once again is a significant recognition of Epson’s long-standing commitment to sustainability and responsible business practices.
“Sustainability is embedded in our corporate philosophy and guides how we design products, operate our business and engage with our partners and customers.”
Epson’s sustainability initiatives include decarbonisation, transitioning to 100% renewable electricity at its global sites, and efforts to reduce travel-related emissions while investing in renewable energy and energy-efficiency projects.
