Seiko Epson Corporation has officially completed its acquisition of Fiery, the specialist in print software including CADlink.

As reported in September, the technology giant bought Fiery from investment firm Siris Capital Group in a transaction valued at around $591 million (£446 million), dependent regulatory approvals which have now all been carried out.

It means Fiery is officially part of the Epson group, with chief executive Toby Weiss continuing to lead Fiery under Epson’s larger corporate management structure, alongside the rest of Fiery’s management team.

In September, Fiery stated that the acquisition would not interfere with existing partnerships with manufacturers and that strict confidentiality on data and product information would be maintained.

Fiery provides digital front ends (DFEs) and workflow solutions for the global print industry, with software and cloud-based technologies supporting performance, colour and print quality across a broad range of production printing devices.

It was originally part of EFI Fiery which acquired CADlink Technology in 2022. Siris, headed by Frank Baker, spun off Fiery including CADlink into a separate business last year.
