Leeds-based Picture the Print started offering DTF printing using sheets on its DTG machine a few years ago. “As demand grew we purchased a DTF printer. Due to space [restrictions] it was a 33cm machine with powder shaker,“ explains director Darren Hughes. “This has served us well and now we are in a bigger premises we have just received delivery of a 1ClickPrint 42cm printer.”
The company prints on a wide range of garments, but especially on sports materials. “We print the kits and teamwear for many clubs and schools around Leeds.” In addition, Picture the Print has a trade DTF transfer service, and ships across the UK. It‘s proved very popular and keeps the printers busy, Darren reports.
A product development he would like to see is paper film. “The biggest downside is the amount of plastic waste from the film.“
Besides that, DTF is working well for the company. “When a client is ordering multiple different items, from hoodies to umbrellas and bags, it enables us to have great consistency in terms of colour and finish across all items. The items we did for Tofoo [pictured] highlight that – they ordered T-shirts, hoodies, caps, aprons and umbrellas.“
