Christof Kunze and Steffen Frank explain Daiber’s new AI-powered decoration editor

Following the launch of its online configurator for print and embroidery orders in 2025, Gustav Daiber GmbH has now expanded its digital services with a new integrated AI-powered decoration editor. Christof Kunze, managing director, and Steffen Frank, head of digitalisation/business development, explain how the new solution simplifies textile decoration, supports sales and reflects changing customer expectations in the corporate fashion market

Daiber has expanded its existing configurator with a powerful design tool. What prompted this next step?

Christof Kunze:  The new editor is the logical next step in our journey towards becoming a digital full-service platform for corporate fashion. Our aim is to make the entire decoration process as simple, transparent and efficient as possible – from pricing and design through to ordering. Developing the editor involved much more than launching a new digital tool. We optimised internal processes, refined our decoration technologies and simplified complex pricing structures. Building on our existing configurator, the new editor now combines pricing with visual design and AI-powered inspiration. Above all, we wanted to create an intuitive solution that dealers can easily integrate into their sales process, allowing customers to visualise decorated garments at an early stage.

What benefits does the new solution offer dealers and their customers?

Steffen Frank:  The biggest advantage is efficiency. Pricing, design and visualisation are combined within one platform, enabling faster quotations and more confident purchasing decisions. Users receive immediate feedback on the feasibility of their design and the expected quality, reducing follow-up queries and speeding up the process. The visuals also make it much easier to present concepts to decision-makers, while the platform’s 24/7 availability gives customers complete flexibility.

AI-generated inspiration images are one of the key highlights. How do they support the sales process?

Steffen Frank:  AI-generated visuals allow customers to see decorated products in realistic application scenarios from different perspectives long before production begins. They help customers imagine how garments featuring their own logo will look in practice, turning corporate fashion into a textile brand ambassador.

What role will AI play in corporate fashion from your perspective? And how might digital tools change customer expectations?

Christof Kunze:  We see AI as a source of creativity and inspiration rather than simply a productivity tool. It helps customers explore ideas, compare concepts and make decisions more quickly. It helps customers make decisions faster, while complementing – not replacing – personal advice and industry expertise. Our aim is never to implement technology or AI for its own sake, but only where it creates genuine added value. Looking ahead, we see further potential in areas such as animated visualisations.

Today, customers expect customisation to be fast, intuitive and available whenever they need it. They want to compare options, visualise designs and place orders with minimal effort. Personal consultation remains important, particularly for complex projects, but many routine processes are now expected to be digital. We can clearly see this shift in customer behaviour: since launching the configurator and, more recently, the editor, we have processed thousands of decoration orders digitally, with a significant share of our decoration business now generated through our webshop.

Where is Daiber heading next?

Christof Kunze:  We are continuously expanding our digital ecosystem to support customers beyond supplying high-quality corporate fashion. A new project function already allows users to save and revisit designs, while future developments will make repeat ordering even easier. Our focus remains on intelligent digital services that genuinely simplify our customers’ day-to-day business. We believe technology and AI must always create tangible value rather than replace experience or personal relationships.
