ColDesi has announced an upgrade to its DTF-12H2 direct-to-film (DTF) printer, introducing an expanded gamut of colours.
The DTF-12H2 now includes orange and green inks in addition to traditional CMYK and white, expanding the colour gamut by 27% and enabling it to reproduce around 100,000 more printable colours than previous models.
According to ColDesi, the result is brighter graphics, smoother gradients and improved colour accuracy for customised garments, branded merchandise and other decorated products.
The ColDesi DTF-12H2 features dual print heads, a print width of 304.8 millimetres (12 inches) and production speeds of around 50 transfers per hour. With a compact footprint, it is aimed at both startup and established print shops.
ColDesi spokesman Marc Vila said: “Direct-to-film printing continues to grow rapidly because it allows apparel businesses to produce high-quality transfers on demand.
“With the expanded CMYKOG colour system, the DTF-12H2 gives decorators a wider colour range and the ability to reproduce artwork more accurately than traditional CMYK-based systems.”
The system includes a complete workflow solution with a printer, shaker and dryer unit, software, inks and adhesive powder.
ColDesi DTF printers are distributed in the UK by YES Group.
