The upcoming Association of Suppliers to the British Clothing Industry (ASBCI) conference will see industry experts, retailers and academics examine sustainability in the fashion supply chain. From carbon footprints to modern slavery, and from wasteful retail practices to landfill, the conference aims to address the big issues and ask: is it up to the industry to change the way consumers shop, or up to consumers to change the industry?

The conference takes place on Wednesday 8 May 2019 at the Renaissance Manchester City Centre Hotel, and speakers include Daphne Guelker from UL Consumer Retail Services, Phil Townsend from Marks & Spencer, Mark Sumner, lecturer in sustainability, fashion, and retail at the University of Leeds and Vanessa Wakefield, general secretary of the Recyclatex Group.

Places can be booked, and more event information found, on the ASBCI website.
