This quirky mixed media piece from Drukarnia TopQ was achieved through a combination of highly skilled colour separation, talented screen printing, and an incredible imagination

Dariusz Bucior, owner of Drukarnia TopQ, and Leszek Wesołowski, a printing specialist and production manager, share the method behind this exceptional design, which was awarded silver in the Fespa Awards.

“The idea of participating in the competition had been on our minds for a long time, but we never seemed to find the time to pursue it,“ Leszek recalls.

The breakthrough came when, fascinated by the late Salvador Dalí’s surrealist work, he came across a photograph of the artist that inspired him to create the award-winning design.

“Tomasz Sykutera from Dragonfly Colors, a specialist in technical colour separation, supported the realisation of Leszek’s artistic vision. He prepared the screen print design – a somewhat psychedelic portrayal of Salvador Dalí – exactly as envisioned by Leszek.

“The design was printed on 12-station Schenk auto press.”
