New for 2019 from Babybugz is the Baby Rocks Denim Jacket (BZ53). This cute jacket has been cleverly designed to look like a traditional denim jacket, but promises to be comfortable to wear and easy to decorate.

Kirsty Macdonald, brand manager at Babybugz, explains: “We’ve aimed to retain all the credibility and well-loved styling of the traditional denim jacket, but translated it into a garment that’s much more suitable for decoration. To provide perfect decoration areas, we replaced the cut-and-sewn panelling that would be found on a retail denim jacket with jeans-style orange-stitch details to afford a much flatter front and have left the back of the garment seam-free.”

Other features include poppers on the front and cuffs, along with waist tabs and front pocket flaps that are for decoration only. The jacket, which can be printed or embroidered, ties in with the ‘mini me’ movement that is huge in retail at the moment., she confirms, adding that the babywear market is currently experiencing high-level growth.

The style – along with the three other items in the new Baby Rocks Denim range: baby joggers, dungarees and a bandana bib – offers the imprint market something completely new, says Kirsty. “As the market leaders in babywear we have to keep pushing the boat and delighting customers. Feedback has been incredibly positive from those distributors and customers who have been given an advance preview of the 2019 launches.”

The fabric choice fits in with Mantis World’s commitment to using only sustainable fibres by 2021. “We’re using a 100% organic cotton denim, produced in a mill that both offers and provides us with our required assurances and incredibly high standards regarding water usage and cleanliness, and responsible approach to working conditions and respect for those involved in the production programme. It was important to ensure that the fabric was suitable for purpose: the 9oz fabric offers the right balance between softness to ensure comfort in wear, with the ruggedness associated with denim. “

The Babybugz Baby Rocks Denim Jacket will be available in January 2019 in one colour – mid-blue – and in sizes 3/6 months to 2/3 years.
